[April 9, 2025] – Not a day left. The clock is ticking, and for millions of Americans, today marks the final opportunity to claim the stimulus check that could provide much-needed financial relief.


The IRS has confirmed that tonight at 11:59 PM (local time) is the absolute deadline to register and claim any uncollected stimulus payments. Whether you missed the first round, faced issues with your filing status, or simply didn't know you were eligible — this is your last chance.


Meet Maria Johnson, a single mother of two from Houston. She found out just last week that she never received her $1,400 stimulus check due to a clerical error in her tax return. “I had no idea,” she said. “I’ve been working two jobs, and that money could help me pay off my utility bills and buy groceries.” After a frantic call with the IRS, Maria was able to submit a late claim. But not everyone has been that lucky — or aware.


Government agencies and community advocates are urging people to check their eligibility immediately by visiting IRS.gov or using the Get My Payment tool. If you're unsure whether you qualified for a previous round, you can still file a Recovery Rebate Credit through your tax return — but only if it’s submitted by tonight.

If you didn't file taxes due to low income, you can use the Free File tool to register quickly.


Non-citizens with valid ITINs and dependents are also encouraged to review new eligibility guidelines.
