BREAKING: Hold Akpabio, Bello, and Ododo Responsible for My Safety – Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Declares
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has issued a bold and urgent statement, holding Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Kogi State Governor Ahmed Ododo, and former Governor Yahaya Bello directly accountable for her safety and that of her supporters. She declared this publicly via her official Facebook page on April 1, 2025, ahead of her planned visit to Kogi Central for the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
"Let it be known: If anything happens to me or my supporters, Akpabio, Bello, and Ododo must be held responsible!" Akpoti-Uduaghan stated firmly, refusing to be intimidated by political maneuvers against her.
Her statement comes in response to the Kogi State Government’s sudden ban on rallies and public gatherings under the guise of security concerns. Despite this restriction, she has reaffirmed her commitment to engaging with her constituents, urging them to stand firm and join her for the celebrations.
"No threat, no ban, no intimidation will silence the voice of the people!" she declared, rallying her supporters against what she describes as an orchestrated plot to suppress her political influence.
This latest confrontation intensifies the ongoing political battle in Kogi State. In March 2025, reports emerged of a recall campaign against her—allegedly spearheaded by Yahaya Bello and Godswill Akpabio—using financial incentives to manipulate constituents. However, a significant number of Kogi residents have resisted, showing unwavering support for Akpoti-Uduaghan’s leadership.
"The people of Kogi will not be bought! The people’s mandate will not be stolen!" she asserted, condemning the alleged bribery attempts.
Tensions between Akpoti-Uduaghan and her political adversaries reached a boiling point in February 2025 when she accused Senate President Akpabio of sexual harassment. Following this revelation, she was controversially suspended from the Senate for six months under questionable charges of misconduct.
"I will not be silenced. I will not be bullied. I will not stop fighting for justice!" she declared defiantly.
With political tensions at an all-time high, all eyes are now on Kogi State as Akpoti-Uduaghan refuses to back down. Will her defiance lead to greater political reform, or will her opponents succeed in their campaign against her? The nation watches.
