Milan, Italy — On a night of high drama and historic significance at the San Siro, Inter Milan triumphed 4-3 over FC Barcelona after extra time, sealing a sensational 7-6 aggregate victory to secure a place in the UEFA Champions League Final.


With everything to play for following a tightly contested first leg, Inter wasted no time asserting themselves. Lautaro Martínez opened the scoring early, followed by a pinpoint strike from Hakan Çalhanoğlu. But Barcelona, determined not to bow out easily, stormed back in the second half with goals from Eric García, Dani Olmo, and Raphinha, turning the tide 3-2.


Just as the Blaugrana seemed destined for the final, Inter’s Francesco Acerbi delivered a dramatic equalizer in stoppage time, pushing the match into extra time. The decisive blow came in the 99th minute from Davide Frattesi, whose goal sent the Nerazzurri—and all of Milan—into a frenzy.


"My players gave absolutely everything. It was a true team performance and a deserved victory," said Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi. “We earned our place in the final, and we go to Munich with belief.”


Barcelona’s manager Hansi Flick, who took charge in mid-season, acknowledged the sting of defeat: “It’s a tough result. We were minutes away, but credit to Inter—they were relentless. We’ll learn from this and come back stronger.”


Inter Milan will now prepare to face the winner of Arsenal vs. Paris Saint-Germain in the final at the Allianz Arena in Munich on May 31, 2025.


For Inter, this marks a return to European football’s biggest stage—a night their fans won’t forget anytime soon.
